We released Murgatroyd Mouse in this cache. He is travelling the world to sample the great cheeses of the world. He feasted on Wensleydale before setting off from here, the home of this great cheese, first made by the monks of this abbey.
Access to this site is available at any time but there is no artificial lighting to help you after dark. Car parking is across the road and the fee is £1:00 in an honesty box. Entrance to the site is now £3:00, again in an honesty box. There is a tea room by the car park.
The cache is .20 miles from the car park. There is a path across the park and paths and grass surfaces within the site.
This is a lovely abbey. Privately owned, it has an ambience completely different to the other abbeys. Wild flowers grow everywhere over the ruins and many small birds are nesting at the time this cache is placed. Co-ordinates now updated for new location.
