This geocache is located on Asteria Beach, near the Cathedral of St. Nicholas in the Vaporia district which is one of the most famous areas of the island of Syros. Renowned for its mansions built by the shipowners, grand merchants and industrialists of the island, mainly in the 19th century and with a unique view. Most buildings, with their period frescoes, are preserved and they reach the sea. Half way through your route, you are given the opportunity to admire the old mansions from the side of the sea or maybe to see a ferry entering the port or leaving it. The cache itself is a small, white grey box containing the logbook and the geocaching declaration in Greek please bring your own pen in order to sign the logbook. During the summer this area is really popular due to the beach bar that's located there so please be discreet
Αυτή η γεωκρύπτη βρίσκεται στην παραλία Αστέρια, κοντά στον καθεδρικό ναό του Αγίου Νικολάου, στην συνοικία Βαπόρια η οποία είναι από τις πιο γνωστές περιοχές του νησιού της Σύρου. Φημίζεται για τα αρχοντικά της που έχτισαν οι εφοπλιστές, μεγαλέμποροι και βιομήχανοι του νησιού κυρίως τον 19ο αιώνα και την μοναδική θέα της. Για να φτάσετε στην παραλία, θα πρέπει να κατεβείτε τα σκαλιά που οδηγούν στην θάλασσα από τον δρόμο που περνάει πίσω από την εκκλησία. Φτάνοντας στα μισά περίπου της διαδρομής σας δίνεται η ευκαιρία να θαυμάσετε τα παλιά αρχοντικά από την μεριά της θάλασσας ή και να δείτε κάποιο πλοίο να μπαίνει στο λιμάνι ή να αποχωρεί από αυτό. Η ίδια η κρύπτη είναι ένα μικρό, γκρίζο κουτί που περιέχει το logbook και τη δήλωση του Geocaching στα ελληνικά, παρακαλώ φέρτε το δικό σας στυλό.
