An easy quick grab cache that I set initially for my Brownie Pack to get them interested in Geocaching. It is planned to be one of 5 caches in Seascale, the next four will be set by my Brownies, and will form part of a lovely stroll around the village. The ideal starting point for this is the main car park in Seascale (its free).
Seascale is a lovley coastal village situated just south of Sellafield. Its growth was mainly due to the nuclear plant, the 1950 - 60 house were built to house the influx of workers at the nearby nuclear plant. Now its a 'real village' with several generations living in this friendly community. Its attractive seafront has been enhanced by the addition of several features such as a pier, ruined castle and a cannon. There is a play area with equipment which is due to undergo major renovation in 2016.
