Cub Scout Pack 193 has worked hard over the past few years helping the Mt. Grace team remove an invasive plant called Honey Suckle, or as the Scouts have nicknamed it, Honey Chuckle. Twice a year the Pack comes out to help remove the Honey Chuckle by pulling it out with their hands, digging it out with a shovel or their personal favorite, attaching a rope around the base and having a tug o' war with the plant.
The Pack has removed all of the Honey Chuckle in the area and wanted to place a cache to celebrate the achievement. While placing the cache, Pack 193 helped paint bird houses, make signs for No Littering, cleaned up trash and planted over 20 Red Maple saplings. We take pride in our forests and want to welcome all visitors to enjoy the beauty of these locations.
Each time the Pack visits this forest, we learn more about Leave No Trace and how to be good Scouts in the outdoors.
