Este Earthcache se trata de un importante atractivo turístico cerca de San Pedro de Atacama. El Valle de la Luna tiene muy bellos y extraños paisajes que te harán sentir como si estuvieses en la luna o el mars. Hay una tarifa de entrada a la reserva. Abierto esde el amanecer hasta el anochecer .
TERRENO
La calificación del terreno se basa en un recorrido en bicicleta de montaña que te puedes alquilar por 6000 pesos en San Pedro. Si estas dispuesto a pagar mucho más e ir en autobús en el periodo más turístico por la tarde - ¡vale! Debe de ser posible para hacer las tareas también. Pero por la mañana con la bicicleta disfrutas del valle en toda su belleza sin la multitud arruinando sus imágenes y su aventura ;). Para experimentar la forma topográfica del valle es mejor de ir con la bicicleta. Se necesita un cierto nivel de condición física (paseo de ca. 40km), tomar al menos 2 litros de agua per persona e protegerse contra el sol. Está en el desierto!).

El Valle de la Luna es 13 kilómetros fuera de San Pedro en el desierto de Atacama y parte de la Reserva Natural de Los Flamengos, fundada en 1982 (ENTRADA: 3000/2500 Pesos). La Cordillera del Sal en la que el Valle está situado es uno de los lugares más secos en la tierra ya que no había lluvia en cientos de años! Así que no es muy sorprende que no hay vegetación. Esto y la roca tallada grotesca, por el viento y la erosión del agua y la sal de los lagos secos, hace que sea similar a un paisaje lunar. Debido a estas condiciones difíciles y este terreno, un prototipo de rover de Marte fue probado aquí.

This Earhtcache is about an important touristc attraction near San Pedro de Atacama. The Moon Vallley has very beautiful and strange, uncommon landscapes which will make you feel as you were on moon or even mars. There is an entrance fee to the reserve. Open from dawn to dusk.
TERRAIN
which you can rent for cheap 6000 Pesos in San Pedro. If you are willing to pay a lot more and go by bus in the most touristic time in the afternoon, go ahead. It should be possible to do the tasks as well. But with the bike you enjoy the valley in its full beauty in the morning without the crowd ruining your pictures and your adventure ;). For experiencing the topographic shape of the valley the bike is better as well. A certain level of fitness is required (ca. 40km ride), take at least 2l of water p.P and protect yourself against the sun. It's in the desert!.

BACKGROUND
The Valle de la Luna is 13km outside San Pedro in the Atacama Desert and part of the Nature Reserve Los Flamengos, founded in 1982 (ENTRANCE FEE: 3000/2500 Pesos) The Cordillera del Sal in which the Valle is situated is one of the dryest place on earth since there was no rain in hundred of years! So its not very suprising that there is no vegetation. This and the grotesk carved rocks by wind and water errosion during millenia and the salt from dryed lakes makes it similar to a moon landscape. Because of these difficult conditions and terrain a prototype of a Mars rover was tested here.

1. Tomar una foto en algún lugar alrededor en un salt canyon de usted o tu GPS y cargarla con su log (optional).

2. En el punto más alto de duneway (WP1): ¿Cuál es la altura?

3. Sólo en el mismo punto: ¿En qué dirección (en grados) es la cabaña se puede ver?

4. Volviendo a la calle: ¿Cuál es el diámetro de las líneas en la pared de roca en el WP2? ¿Qué crees que es la razón por la que occur

5. Mida la distancia entre el punto más alto de la carretera (WP3) y los tres Madonnas (WP4) mientras que va allí.

6. Una vez que usted lo hizo allí, una última tarea: Echa un vistazo a los cristales claros especiales en la gran roca en WP4. ¿Es sal o un material diferente?

To log this Earthcache you have to send me the answers to the following tasks:

1. Take a picture somewhere around the published coordinates in a salt canyon. It should show either you or your GPS. Load it up with your log (optional).

2. On highest point of duneway (WP1): What is the altitude?

3. Just at the same point: In which direction (in degrees) is the hut you can see?

4. Returning to the street: What is the diameter of the lines in the rock wall at WP2? What do you think is the reason they uccur?

5. Measure the distance between the highest point of the road (WP3) and the three Madonnas (WP4) while going there.

6. Once you made it there, one last task: Take a look at the special crystals on the big rock at WP4. Is it salt or a different material? (PLEASE RESPECT THE RESTRICTED AREA)
