Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Coffee Cache series and The Kettles Trails on Whidbey Island. For coffee lovers, a cuppa joe before, during or after geocaching makes for a well-rounded experience.

The featured coffee drink is Eggnog Latte: in a steaming pitcher, pour 1/3 c. 2% milk and 2/3 c. eggnog; steam using the steaming wand to between 145 ° and 165°; pour into a mug that contains one shot freshly brewed espress, holding back foam with a spoon; spoon foam over the top and sprinkle with nutmeg.

Now to finding the treasure.  If you have not already discovered The Kettles Trails near Coupeville, you are in for a PNW treat.  Not only is the geology of the area fascinating, but experiencing the trails on foot, horseback, or bicycle is better than therapy.  Best to have a map of The Kettles on your adventure.  A printable map (in PDF) that includes The Kettles Trails and Fort Ebey State Park can be found here:

(visit link)

You can also stop by the ranger’s station at Fort Ebey State Park and pick up a map. While hiking in either area, please note and abide by the restrictions posted for each trail.  Four access points provide entrée to The Kettles from Hiway 20.  North to south  they are: Main Line Gate, Lower Ridge Gate, Roundabout Gate, and Kettles Gate. NOTICE:  September 1 to December 31 is hunting season in The Kettles.  Wear fluorescent orange to be safe.

Please replace the cache as good as you find it.
