The Flitwick Bug
The Flitwick Bug has been created to mark DJ:CD reaching 800 finds. The bug has been many months in the making but it is finally here!
The whole bug will consist of 185 mystery caches once they have all been published; of varying difficulty, but of fairly low terrain.
My initial intention was to set caches that could be accessed by people using a pushchair however due to proximity issues and high volumes of muggles in many of the areas I intended to place the caches this has not been possible. If a cache can be accessed by pushchair users then I will use the attribute accordingly.
Every puzzle has been set to be solved and every cache has been placed to be found. It is possible to solve & find each puzzle on its own - none of the puzzles rely on another being solved or found.
Please contact me via my profile if you require any assistance or feedback.
Most importantly, enjoy yourself!
The cache is not at the published co-ordinates.
Everyone loves a good sailing story and here is my gift to the Geocaching World!
Mr & Mrs DJ:CD decided to head out with the kids in mid-December for their annual sailing trip. Being Mid-December it would have been unsurprising to many that there was a fresh breeze blowing across Marston Moretaine lake, but not to Mr DJ:CD, he was expecting a light breeze at worst, with calm sea conditions. How wrong could he be?
The last trip here went up in smoke because Mrs DJ:CD had forgotten to pack Master DJ:CD’s umbrella, which wouldn’t have mattered anyway because he always struggles to use it anyway. But the fact we didn’t bring it, typically meant he wanted to have it (what is it with kids always wanting something you can’t give them).
Anyway back to this year’s trip which seemed to be going OK, although admittedly we had only made it as far as the car park. Whilst walking round to the sailing club we’d noticed a bin had been blown over which came as a surprise because usually this area of Bedfordshire is usually clean and litter-free. Maybe the carnage caused by last night’s violent storm had been restored to normal yet.
Miss DJ:CD had spotted a pink dinghy from afar and had decided that was going to be our vessel of choice for today, Mrs DJ:CD wasn’t sure that a dinghy was the correct choice for today, especially with the aforementioned fresh breeze. Not wanting to face a confrontation we decided to go for it anyway.
Once out on the water things calmed down and we actually had a pleasant afternoon sailing around the lake. Mrs DJ:CD had made sandwiches for all and we decided to eat whilst out on the lake, Mr DJ:CD and the kids will eat anything bur Mrs DJ:CD is vegetarian so whilst she ate her vegetation sandwiches, the others ate smoked ham sandwiches.
Before long the kids had had enough and we were back on firm ground. Then there was trouble. Once the buggy had been loaded into the racer, Mr & Mrs DJ:CD couldn’t decide who had the keys to the caching wagon. Was it Mr DJ:CD the driver, or Mrs DJ:CD the back seat driver? We searched high and low all over the wagon. Maybe you can help us?
