The Great Divide is actually a trail in the Canadian Rockies (more details below). With respect to this cache, the great divide is the Lincoln Alexander Parkway which separates neighbourhoods. Or maybe it's the wall that separates the houses from the highway. Or maybe it has something to do with the cache itself! Hmmmm.

The Great Divide Trail (GDT), is a wilderness hiking trail in the Canadian Rockies. The trail closely follows theGreat Divide between Alberta and British Columbia, crossing the divide no fewer than 30 times. It begins inWaterton Lakes National Park at the Canada-US border (where it connects with the Continental Divide Trail) and ends in Kakwa Provincial Park north of Jasper National Park. The Great Divide Trail is 1,200 km long and ranges in elevation from 1,055 m (3,461 ft) at Old Fort Point trailhead near Jasper to 2,590 m (8,497 ft) at an unnamed pass above Michele Lakes just south of the White Goat Wilderness Area.
