Geocache Description:

This series of caches was inspired by the excellent Indiana Benchmarking series. I have decided to build upon that series by publishing a series of caches highlighting benchmarks in Ohio. Each cache will bring you close to a loggable benchmark ... so each find will be a two-fer!

You may find a bookmark list of the Ohio series at Ohio Benchmark-Friendly Geocaches.

Please note that the cache is at the guardrail right next to the road. The description below is only for if you wish to observe the actual benchmark.

This benchmark is a 'rivet' and is set in concrete just below track level at the end of a railroad bridge. To get to this benchmark, you will need to make your way from road level up to the level of the railroad bridge. You must do so on the northeast side of the tracks as the land on the southwest side is a private residence. The benchmark's location is listed as a waypoint on this page. Below are my pictures of the benchmark itself and the benchmark in situ. This benchmark may be logged at Benchmark JZ0240.

Benchmark JZ0240 - "RV 154"

Note: If you find, own, or place a cache at or near a benchmark in Ohio, would you please email me so I can add it to my bookmark list of benchmark-friendly caches in Ohio.
