)First, it should be noted that oranges require temperate, humid climates, and don't do well in low temperatures where there is frost.

)When planting an orange tree, it's essential to carefully choose its location, since it should receive sunlight for as many hours as possible during the day. It's also necessary to protect it from the wind.

)You can plant an orange tree from seed or by transplanting branches that have been grafted, that is, starting with a bare root. At nurseries and garden centres, you'll find orange trees in pots that can be planted directly in your garden or transplanted at home. However, here we're going to explain how to plant an orange tree from seed.

)The best season to plant an orange tree is during spring, at the beginning of March, when weather conditions are mild and not adverse or detrimental for the orange tree.

)The soil to plant orange trees must retain moisture well . It's recommended that the soil has a pH between 5 and 8.

)The first thing you need to do is leave the orange seed (in a folded paper towel and into a food container) in the fruit compartment of your fridge for a couple of weeks or a month.

)After this period has passed, soak the seed for an hour or two and sow. Germination should start after 4 to 6 weeks.

)Also, the soil must be fertilised periodically, more specifically once a week. You can find specific citrus fertilisers that are suitable for orange trees.

)Water the tree plentifully, but always take care not to flood or overdo it, in order to prevent root rot or the tree from dying. Likewise, this type of fruit tree requires a lot of moisture in the air and in the soil, so make sure that it never gets too dry.
