The Park
Spylaw Park was originaly the garden of Spylaw House which was owned by James Gillespie in the 17th century. In 1911 the park was purchased by the Midlothian County Council and was opened to the public.
Today it is a popular park for families to play in and explore. It is also a stop-off point for walkers and cyclists along the Water of Leith Walkway.
The Cache
The cache is located in an area behind the South West wall of the play area in Spylaw Park. This area is rather tricky to access but once you are there the cache shouldn't take too long to find.
To get to the area you first need to follow the South Western wall until it comes to an end at the riverside. Now negotiate around the end of the wall carefully. Then head in the direction your GPS takes you and once close you can now begin the search for the cache!
Due to the uneven ground and the care needed to access the area and the cache, this cache is not suitable for young children. Watch out for litter and the large hole in the ground.
We encourage your feedback as this is our first cache!
Congratulations to tele420 for being the FTF!
