Ever since the CB radio era, Basingstoke (or Amazingjoke, as it is fondly known to locals) has earned itself the nickname of Donut City, due to the large number of roundabouts it has. So what better place to hide a geocache than a roundabout? This is a large busy roundabout on the A339 ringroad, but one which is perfectly safe and accessible, as it has two pedestrian crossings leading to it and a footpath all around it. You will not have to risk life and limb getting there, and it is fine for families and kids under supervision.
Having done a lot of geocaching over the summer on Alderney and the Isle of Wight, we concidentally collected 3 Christmas decorations, which we will be putting on our tree this year to remind us of the fun we had finding them. So that gave me the idea of making this a Christmas geocache....
You are looking for a square clip-type lunchbox, which I have filled with Christmas decorations. Please take one and enjoy it, but please replace with something of equal size and value so there are still plenty of things for other people to find in the future.
As this cache is on a roundabout, you will not be able to park in the immediate vicinity, but it is a short walk from nearby residential areas or laybys in the industrial park nearby. If you are on bikes, so much the better and you will be able to get very close.
Have fun, and Merry Christmas!!
