P & G along Albany New Road.

Albany New Road - Old Time Logging Camps

E. D. Davison & Sons Ltd. Was one of the most advanced lumber companies in Nova Scotia in the late 1800's and early 1900's. They owned about 196,000 acres of timberland in Annapolis, Kings, Lunenburg Counties and a small portion in Queens county. To accomplish this eminence task large communities like Mill Village, Crossburn and Hastings were created. I know that all were very important in their own way but in my opinion the real backbone of the business was the logging camps. That is where the hardest work was done. Today we will take you along this road and into the heartland of Nova Scotia's logging industry of yesteryear. The farm across the road from this cache site was once the site of a logging camp
