Geocache Description:

This cache is placed at the site of the first Peace Pole to be erected and dedicated in Lincoln County, Missouri.  This is a small cache, slightly larger than a micro, very little room for anything beyond the log.

A peace pole is a hand-crafted monument that displays the message and prayer “May Peace Prevail on Earth” or just the word Peace in four to six languages.  There are 10’s of thousands of peace poles in over 180 countries throughout the world dedicated as monuments to peace.  They can be found on every continent.  This peace pole was hand-crafted by the Saint Paul youth and adult church leaders during Vacation Bible School this summer.  It was erected and dedicated on September 26, 2015.  Peace is displayed on the four sides in the languages of English, German, Hebrew and South African.  The paintings display ordinary sights found about the church, such as corn and flowers.  The many lady bugs of all sizes are thumbprints of adults and children involved in the preparation of the peace pole.

The cache may be hunted Monday through Saturday from dawn until 8 PM.  Pastor Michael requests that the cache not be hunted on Sunday from 9 AM to 1230PM, so as to not disturb Sunday Services.  Enjoy this cache and the Peace Pole to which it leads you.

Placed with the permission of Pastor Michael and my friends of St. Paul UCC.
