Geocache Description:

This cache leads you to an impressive monumental olive tree. The locals call it "Mother Olive Tree", it is about 2800 years old. The tree is surrounded by 12 large stones which are transferred there from the Cultural Association of Kamilari forming a symbolic fencing in order to highlight and protect the tree. On 8 out of these stones various symbolic representations are carved, some of refer to the Minoan era. The tree is located near the village of Kamilari. Don't miss to stroll through this village, it is one of the most beautiful in the area.

You can leave your car at the coordinates given (Parking). I would also like to recommend the pizzeria "Ariadni" next to the parking. It is open in the summer season. In the evening you can have a delicious meal with candlelight and the sound of the croaking of frogs from the nearby spring.

The cache is a very small plastic container (almost a micro) with a logbook and a pencil.
