Identification: Most species of North American tarantulas are brown.
Habitat: Natural habitats include savanna, grasslands such as the pampas, rain forests, deserts, scrub land, mountains and cloud forests.
Customs: They are burrowers living in the ground.
Venom: Harmless to humans. People keep them as pets. For this reason they may become extinct.
General: Because of its massive size and bulkiness, this spider creates fear amongst humans. It is a delicacy in some eastern countries.
