A series of caches meant to provide a little information about my favourite equine - the donkey:-) All of the donkeys in the photos on the cache pages can be found living nearby at The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada.
Donkeys usually obtain all of the required vitamins and minerals from the straw, grass and hay in their diets. However, in addition to the standard food supplied they should also have free access to an equine mineralised block, which contains various minerals including salt, to supplement their diet all year round to prevent any deficiencies. Blocks designed for other livestock may be toxic to donkeys as some contain inappropriate mineral levels.
