Geocache Description:

Third in the series of Memorial caches. Congrats to RStasicky on the FTF!!!!

The Manteno unit of the Illinois Veteran's home opened in 1986, just one year after the Manteno State Mental hospital was decommissioned. The state added on to the Manteno State Hospital cemetery to create a place where the Veteran's could be buried. I am not sure how many are buried here at this location, but the cemetery is actually open on Sunday's for the general public to visit. This cache is NOT located inside the cemetery, but relatively close by. Happy hunting! TB for FTF!
