King Hollow Tunnel at Kings Station Traditional Cache

This is a hike along the Rails To Trails (Athens County) through King Tunnel in the ghost town of Kings Station. 

You are now in Kings Station Ohio, an old coal mining & railroad town from about 1856 to 1910. It was eventually abandoned when the mines shut down. A unique ghost story is attached to King Tunnel here of a young woman who had committed suicide in nearby Mineral. Her ghost followed a young man walking the tracks the same night she died. Legends tell her ghost still walks the far side of the tracks. The town once thrived with a store, a post office, school, coal mines and homes. If you go to the far side of the tunnel, look across the pond for the little building made from a huge boulder.
