So we have planned his birthday party in two parts...the first with just his Den members, and their families, to spend time teaching them about geocaching...the basics of the game, tools to use, what to look for, and more.
We will then take them on a short hike to practice finding a few caches in this local neighborhood.
After teaching the boys (and their families) about Geocaching and making a find (or two), we thought it might be fun for them to meet real geocachers in the area thus the second part of the birthday party...we are hosting this event! As an added bonus... the Cub Scouts will each earn their Cub Scout Geocaching Chip for participating in this official event & the Geocachers who attend the event will earn a Smiley - now how cool is that!
We welcome all cachers in the area to stop by and not only wish JrRanger11 a very Happy Birthday but also to share your geocaching wisdom with these young Tiger Cub Scouts and their families...
Share why you started geocaching, why you continue to geocache, what you enjoy about this game, tips and tricks you have for playing the game, and anything else to help spread a positive enjoyment of our hobby to the greater community...
3:00-4:00pm - plan to come sign the log and get a slice of cake too...well while it lasts at least :)
