Time for a mystery series on the outskirts of Eksjö! The letter S are sudoku and calcudoku mysteries.
Du kan lösa Eksjö-mystarna hemifrån i förväg för att få fram rätt koordinater. Cacherna finns i naturen, ofta nära promenadvänliga småvägar och stigar, och mestadels i ganska snäll och familjevänlig terräng.
Se bilden nedan för ett exempel på hur man löser en LT-GT-sudoku. Varje rad, kolumn och 3x3-box måste innehålla siffrorna 1-9 (i exemplet är det bara siffrorna 1-4, då det är en enklare 4x4-variant). Den viktiga skillnaden här är att < och > (”större än” samt ”mindre än”-tecknen) mellan två rutor måste överensstämma för de siffror som står i de båda rutorna.
Om man har svårt att skilja på dessa, så kan man tänka sig dem som munnen på en hungrig krokodil, --==L===L=^< (det där ska föreställa en krokodil, med lite fantasi) . Krokodiler vill ha så mycket mat som möjligt, så den siffra som krokodilen vänder munnen mot är störst av de två som den har att välja mellan, t.ex. 4 > 3 och 1 < 2.

You can solve the Eksjö mysteries at home in advance, to find out the correct coordinates. The caches are in the nature, often near calm countryside roads or paths that are great to walk on, and mostly in family-friendly terrain.
See the picture below for an example of how to solve a LT-GT Sudoku. Each row, column and 3x3 box has to contain the numbers 1-9 (in the example, it is only the numbers 1 to 4, since it is an easy 4x4 version). The important difference here is that < and > (“greater than” and “less than” signs) between two boxes need to be correct for the numbers inside them.
If it is hard to tell the difference between them, think of them like the mouth of a hungry crocodile, --==L===L=^< (that is supposed to be a crocodile, with a bit of imagination). Crocodiles want as much food as possible, so the number that the crocodile turns the mouth towards is the largest of the ones that it has to choose from, for example 4 > 3 and 1 < 2.
