I was checking on another of my caches by the Chamber of Commerce Building (Get Thee Behind Me) and knew of this trail but had never walked it. After walking it from end to end I decided I had enough of a cache container in my trunk to make a placement. This is a very pleasant walkway (paved and lighted) and well-maintained. One end is by the Chamber of Commerce Building parking lot and the other is off a road behind the ballfields of Bibb County High School. Access might could be gained at other areas along the trail but the Bibb County Board of Education may take issue with you for trying.
Immediately across the Cahaba River is the 'remains' of the Cecil Crews Park that used to be a great place to visit....until the City of Centreville accidentally let the lease with the Crews family expire a few years ago.
There are several benches for resting and several areas to sit above the flowing river and reflect. After a lot of rain the flow over the shoals is wonderful to see and hear. I placed this container in a wooded area near a viewing spot that will hopefully be totally unnoticed by any muggles and located above the flood plain.
Didn't have a lot of swag to put in (OK....almost none) so I put $1.00 in for the FTF. Room for trackables in the container.
