A brilliant view of the carse near Perth from an ancient tower
For this virtual cache you will find a small parking area at N56
23.475 / W03 21.999 and you can pick up the trail by walking up the
gated drive and taking either a left or right turn on the trail
(its circular). One way is much easier than the other but I won't
tell you which one it is! When scouting this cache out my
father-and-law and I discovered what appeared to be some renovation
work done to the old (medieval?) tower. However, it looks like the
project was given up some time ago, but they've left behind much
building materials. The tower door was swinging open and I was able
to ascend up many stories in the spiral staircase for an even more
impressive view of the valley below. If you do this, be very
careful as much of this castle/tower is weather beaten and in a sad
state of repair near the upper floors. To prove you've visited this
cache, upload a picture of yourself with the tower. Sorry I had to
do this, another cacher has placed a cache 89ft away and put a
picture of the tower in the listing. Isn't this against the rules??
