My legend for HAG XII is one of the best, most famous & popular race car legends, nicknamed “The Intimidator” for being so aggressive or “The Man in Black” after his black paint scheme for his #3 car, Dale Earnhardt Sr.
Dale was born in 1951 in Kannapolis, North Carolina and unfortunately was killed on Feb 18th, 2001 on the final lap, in turn 4, of the Daytona 500 after making small contact with Sterling Marlin and Ken Schrader that sent him head-on into the outside retaining wall.
He won a total of 76 Winston Cup races during his career, earned 7 Winston Cup Championships and was inducted into the Nascar Hall of Fame in 2010 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Since Dale’s death, there have been many improvements to safety features inside the cars and on the many tracks as well as to the cars themselves.
“The Intimidator” will live in our memories as a legend in the world of NASCAR racing.
