The little town of Ballan has seen its fair share of geocache hides and events over the years – all thanks to one busy bee: Kinkell1, also known far and wide as Sue.
This week marks a milestone birthday for Sue. Let’s continue the tradition of celebrating her birthday in the park where many of us met her (and Tilley TB) for the first time.
Since Sue has not been able to organise the event this year, we are happy to step in on her behalf. She is planning to be in attendance and would love to see some caching friends in Ballan. Kinkell1’s motto for these events has always been:
“No presents, just your presence required.”
We know from previous events that a lot of other regional cachers have their birthdays around about the same time. It would be great to see a lot of them and serenade them, eg. one half of Highrod, S_4_Sammy, Rabbitto, Coley-Babee – and who else?!
The park boasts plenty of space for children and dogs to run around, a playground, shelter with tables, 2 electric barbecues, some seating, toilets and parking. If you are so inclined, you could even stay on for a dip in the local swimming pool or a round of golf nearby.
As January can be hot and uncomfortable, let’s hope for a mild spell to keep the Scottish lass comfortable!
Looking forward to seeing lots of friendly cachers to celebrate the birthday bash.
