Oak Lake Aquifer
The Oak Lake Aquifer is an almost totally unconfined sand and gravel deposit that covers 800 square miles. It rests on sandy silt which is underlain by clay and/or till. Beneath this lies shale bedrock. Recharge of the aquifer is mainly from local rainfall and snowmelt and, to a lesser degree, from stream flow in Pipestone and Stony Creeks.
