This is our first pre-challenge event for all of those cachers who have arrived early to enjoy the shopping, food and caching that Brenham has to offer.
Join us from 7pm through 9pm in Firemen’s Park at the Antique Carousel for some old fashioned fun, ice cream and rides. The carousel is usually only open during the day, but the Brenham Parks and Recreation Department has agreed to give us rides for the evening. Entertainment /activity plans are to meet up with fellow cachers, listen to a barbershop quartet or two and eat ice cream.
The C.W Parker Carousel was built in the early 1900's and it is one of only 9 historic carousels in Texas. The horses were carved by Charles W. Dare sometime before 1901.
For some special prizes, don’t forget to grab the "brass ring "as you go round and round. There will also be tips from local cachers who have completed the Birthplace of Texas" GeoTour, the first in Texas. If you need to keep your muggle family members busy, we wil have Information about shopping and where to find some of the best food in Washington County.
Special Announcement: The TXGA is creating a special souvenir just for this event. The first 50 riders on the carousel will receive a free prize at the end of their first ride…. 1 per cacher.
