The effect was not permanent -- perhaps only lasting an hour or two -- but the transformation allowed the distinguished Professor to finally see the world through the eyes of a small furry creature that lives in burrows. What a discovery!
Unfortunately, Professor Wigglepants has his enemies in the scientific community, including one Dr. Largebottom, a rival biochemist with a reputation for scooping the discoveries of his colleagues. Wigglepants decided to hide the formula for his pika-transforming serum in a small cache in the woods, far away from the prying eyes of the evil Dr. Largebottom. The Prof encoded the location of the cache in such a way that only the most dedicated scientists would be able to unravel the mystery and uncover the secret formula.
