The challenge:
QR codes are used everywhere. QR code is the abbreviation for Quick Response Code. This is a matrix type of bar code with other words a two dimensional bar code which stores more information than a conventional bar code. A QR code uses four standardized encoding modes mainly numeric, alphanumeric, byte/binary, and kanji to store data.
Sometimes you will find them on machines. Giving the serial number, year of manufacturing, Agent Service details, asset number, etc. Sometimes cachers will use the QR code to generate a way-point during a multi cache. Sometimes it will be used in a mystery cache giving you the final way-point. Some cachers do use them to record details of their trackable collection. More difficult caches used this as a first step in order to get to the serious part of the mystery. Here we will make use of a basic and easy mystery challenge.
Most cell phones today do have the ability to scan these codes. If not it is easy to find a program to get it done.
Originally this was developed in Japan in 1994 to monitor the movement of vehicle bodies. Today is been used everywhere. If you have WIFI at your home you can even generate a QR code of your password for visitors. Print it and stick it against the wall. Then there is no need for the visitors to ask for the password every 5 minutes.
So the challenge is easy. Find the details on the QR code.
