The applet is supplied by a well-known and respected publisher and is widely used in education.
Notes on the solver applet:

Click the clue you wish to enter an answer for. Then type in your answer.

To change direction of typing, press the right- or down-arrow keys.

Some of the clues contain "?" links. Click these to view the cache listing or image needed to solve the clue. These links are for convenience and are not hints. Clues which reference multiple cache listings do not have links.

Click "Revert" to clear your entries and start over.

Click "Save" to save your progress so far. A URL is displayed at the top of the page. I never found it necessary to note or save it. Your work should appear automatically when the puzzle is reloaded.

If you prefer to solve the puzzle on paper, click the "PDF" link in the lower right corner of the puzzle page. On the displayed PDF, move your cursor to the bottom and click on the revealed printer icon. I was able to get a larger-sized puzzle printout by changing Custom Scale to 120%.

If needed, see the Additional Hints section of this listing for hints for selected clues.

If you get stuck, as a last resort, click "Check". Any incorrect letters in the puzzle are indicated.

When you enter the last letter, and the grid is completely filled, and all letters are correct, the cache coordinates will appear. Don't leave the page until you have made a note or copy of it. I found that it's not easy to get the puzzle to invoke the solution a second time!

If one or more letters of a filled grid are incorrect, nothing will happen. Review your work and if necessary, click "Check".
The cache should be findable in all but heavy and fresh snow.
If you view your solution coordinates in Google Earth, know that extensive changes have occurred in the area since the aerial image was taken (as of 12-2015).
