Geocache Description:

The first annual event designed to break up the cold months when many of us prefer to limit our exposure to snow caching. Consider it a weekend escape where you can share your love of geocaching and socialize with others that might be in hibernation too.

Let's face it, many of us reduce our participation in geocaching when the weather isn't as pleasant. And this makes it an ideal time to turn our focus away from the physical part of the game towards the theory part of the game. With that in mind I'm hosting what I hope will be the first of many annual events to better everyone's success once spring time arrives.

The event will take place in the Niagara Room of the Best Western hotel and runs from 10am to 5pm on the Saturday. During that time there will be education sessions of a variety of topics for everyone from the newest player to the most experienced. I'm hoping to get some help from other people with experience as well so we can really get good content for all. Topics under consideration are GSAK (which there would likely be several different levels), How-To sessions of best practices for hiders or seekers, Recommended Gear to have in your collection, Techniques on puzzles, etc. etc.

We have the room all day and evening so if there is enough interest there will also be recreational activities arranged for after dinner. It might be a game tournament, perhaps Euchre, or maybe a movie night with popcorn. I'm open to suggestion.

My hope is that many people will make it a full weekend and stay to socialize, go on adventures together and generally just treat themselves to a break from Old Man Winter.

Entry to the event is only $5 per person so that I can cover the rental of the room for the day.
