Geocache Description:

NOTE : As this cache is proving to be quite difficult to find I've upped the difficulty rating and added a spoiler picture.
This cache is hidden in the town of Patterson, at the William Clough Nature Preserve, parking off of Farm to Market Rd. The trails run along the Great Swamp but you should be able to keep your feet dry. The cache is a 30 cal ammo can packed full of a wide assortment of goodies and some just plain wierd stuff.

Ever since a cacher (The Gis Guy) asked for any information refering to the stone chamber at the Ninham Mountain cache, I got curious and started doing some searching on the internet to try get some answers as to where these stone chambers originated and what they were used for. I found some fascinating tidbits of legend, history and even paranormal.

With all this talk of stone chambers I bet you'd be expecting to find one here huh? Sorry not today! I goofed and thought we were at the right preserve but it turns out, close.... but no druid ruin....hence the name. None the less this is a beautiful little perserve, teaming with wetland inhabitants (including mosquitos.. don't forget the bug spray!!!) I love the prehistoric aura in the swamp. As an interesting side note, many years ago a dugout canoe dating back to 1600 was pulled out of this swamp. It is on display at the Southeast Museum.

This cache was rehidden on April 9th, 2005 after it's disappearance. Hope this one lasts awhile.. please rehide well as the muggle aspect is a concern. There is no need to overturn any rocks! The rock that would need to be overturned is to big to move anyways. Good Luck it's appearing it's not an easy find.
