Il Rifugio Torino è situato nel comune di Courmayeur, nell'alta Valdigne, in Valle d'Aosta, sul massiccio del Monte Bianco a 3.375 m s.l.m., nello specifico sullo sperone di Punta Helbronner e fu inaugurato il 5 agosto 1952, in un giorno che cronache del tempo definirono «una mattinata sfolgorante di sole».
Si trova nei pressi del colle del Gigante (3.371 m), nelle vicinanze dello spartiacque tra l'Italia e la Francia, in territorio italiano.
La sua costruzione risale ai primi anni '50 e fu resa possibile grazie ad un accordo tra le sezioni di Torino e di Aosta del Club Alpino Italiano, CAI, e la Regione Valle d'Aosta.
I lavori per la sua edificazione, su progetto dell'ingegner Remo Locchi, iniziarono il 24 luglio 1951e durarono circa 150 giorni con un costo complessivo dell'opera pari a circa 65 milioni di lire.
Dal 24 agosto 2015 il rifugio è in ristrutturazione e rimarrà chiuso fino alla primavera del 2016.
Accesso:Il rifugio è raggiungibile in pochi minuti da Punta Helbronner, la stazione di monte della funivia che parte da Pavillongrazie ad un insieme di tunnel e ascensore scavati nella roccia per collegare il rifugio alla stazione di monte. Questo percorso, accessibile a tutti, permetterà a due mondi di incontrarsi, alpinisti da una parte e turisti della domenica dall'altra.

In alternativa è possibile salire a piedi dal sottostante rifugio Pavillon (stazione intermedia della funivia) effettuando un percorso alpinistico piuttosto lungo ed impegnativo.

Le refuge Torino (ou refuge Turin, en italien rifugio Torino) se situe entre le commune de Courmayeur en Vallée d'Aoste, dans le massif du Mont-Blanc, à 3 375 mètres d'altitude.
Il se trouve près du col du Géant (3 371 mètres) et de la ligne de partage des eaux entre l'Italie et la France.
Sa construction remonte au début des années 50 et a été facilitée grâce à un accord entre les sections d'Aoste et de Turin du Club Alpin Italien, CAI, et de la région du Val d'Aoste.
La construction, sous la supervision de l'ingénieur Remo Locchi, a commencé en 1951, le 24 Juillet a duré environ 150 jours avec un coût total d'environ 65 millions de lires italiennes.
Du 24 Août 2015, la cabane est en cours de rénovation et restera fermé jusqu'au printemps de 2016.
Accès: Le refuge Torino peut être atteint en quelques minutes de Punta Helbronner, la station de montagne du téléphérique qui monte de Courmayeur et de refuge Pavillon, en passant par des tunnels et un ascenseur qui a été creusée dans la roche pour se connecter à l'abri à la station.
Ainsi, depuis le refuge est accessible à presque tous les types de personnes, il permettra aux deux mondes de se rencontrer à haute altitude, les alpinistes de tuf d'un côté et les touristes ordinaires sur l'autre.

Alternativement, vous pouvez marcher par-dessous Pavillon refuge (de station intermédiaire de la télécabine) par une randonnée plutôt assez long et exigeant.

The Rifugio Torino is located in the town of Courmayeur, in the upper Valdigne, in the Aosta Valley, within the Mont Blanc massif at 3,375 meters above sea level, specifically on the spur of Punta Helbronner. It was inaugurated on August 5th in 1952, on a day that chronicles of the time named "a brilliant sunnymorning".
It lies near the Col de Geant (3,371 m), near the border between Italy and France, still in Italian territory.
Its construction dates back to the early 50s and was facilitated thanks to an agreement between the sections of Aosta and Turin of the Italian Alpine Club, CAI, and the Region of Valle d'Aosta.

Access: The shelter can be reached within a few minutes from Punta Helbronner, the mountain station of the cable car from Pavillon, passing by tunnels and a lift which has been carved into the rock to connect the shelter to the top station.
So since the refuge is accessible to nearly all kinds of people, it will allow both worlds to meet at high altitude, tuff mountaineers on one side and the ordinary Sunday tourists on the other.
