In the early 1900's Daytona Beach became widely known for high-speed auto testing and numerous land speed records were set here. By the 1920's auto and motorcycle racing was very popular and the beach was dubbed the "World's Most Famous Beach" This location is now the busiest automobile access ramp to the beach.
