Multi 2: door het hart van het Middeleeuwse Brugge – through the heart of medieval Bruges.
2de van 3 multi’s en een bonus, die mekaar opvolgen in de Brugse binnenstad.
Een wandeling van ongeveer 7 kilometer.

Waypoint 1: een oude tijdsaanduiding in de buurt van de oude cryptekerk
U bevindt zich hier in de buurt van de Jeruzalemkerk, een oude cryptekerk uit de Middeleeuwen die zeker een bezoekje waard is.
Vraag: In de Middeleeuwen beschikte men nog niet over digitale, satellietgestuurde klokken. Ook een GPS met tijdsaanduiding behoorde niet tot de standaarduitrusting van de doorsnee Middeleeuwse Bruggeling. Hier en daar waren er echter wel al zonnewijzers te vinden. Ook u staat hier in de nabijheid van de Jeruzalemkerk voor een zonnewijzer, die jammer genoeg niet uit de Middeleeuwen stamt.
Tel de waarde van de vier Romeinse cijfers op deze zonnewijzer (enkel bovenste steen) op.
Let op: IXX = 19!

Vervolg u weg langs de “Molenmeers” om op zoek te gaan naar waypoint 2 dat ongeveer 500 meter verder ligt.

Waypoint 2: een oud huis genoemd naar een vogel.
Vraag: als het goed is, bent u terug langs één van de Reien van Brugge beland, bij een huis dat genoemd is naar een vogel. Boven de deur ziet u een fries met een moedervogel die haar jongen beschermt. Op de voorgevel van dit huis, rechts van de fries, ziet u twee jaartallen.
Antwoord: E = het verschil tussen deze jaartallen.

Waypoint 3: een Middeleeuws plein #1
Vraag: U staat in het midden van één van de Middeleeuwse pleinen, die de Brugse binnenstad rijk is. Hier heerste in de Middeleeuwen een bijzondere bedrijvigheid, die af te leiden is uit de naam van het plein en enkele friezen in de gevels.
Aan de Noordwestkant van dit plein ziet u een oud huis dat momenteel dienst doet als één van de vele chocoladewinkels in Brugge, the Chocolate Crown. De goot van dit huis is versierd met sierlijke, symmetrische patronen, die lijken op bloemen. Hoeveel van deze patronen zijn te zien aan de goten van dit huis. Kijk zowel aan de voorkant als aan de achterkant!

Waypoint 4: een Middeleeuws plein #2
Vraag: Ook hier bevindt u zich op een belangrijk plein uit de Middeleeuwen in het hartje van het toeristische Brugge. Kijk even goed rond en bewonder de mooie gebouwen uit verschillende periodes in de geschiedenis en los ondertussen volgende vraag op.
Welke jaartal is zowel op het huis met huisnummer 11B als op het huis met huisnummer 14 te vinden?

We zoeken de stash op een mooi plaatsje langs de Brugse Reien met zicht op een Middeleeuws plein.

Waypoint 1: an old indicator of time in the neighbourhood of the old crypt church.
You are in the neighbourhood of the Church of Jeruzalem, an old crypt church from the Middle Ages.
Question: in the Middle Ages they were not yet digital watches. Also a GPS with indication of time was not yet known in Bruges. At some places, there were sundials. Here you see a sundial, to be honest, not dated in the Middle Ages.
Make the sum of the value of the four roman numerals on this sundial (only upper stone). This is D.

Waypoint 2: an old house with the name of a bird.
Once again, you are alongside of one the canals of Bruges and standing in front of a house with the name of a bird. Above the door you see a frieze with a mother bird, protecting her little ones. On the front side of this house, you can see two dates (years).

Waypoint 3: a medieval square #1
You are in the middle of one of Medieval squares in the inner city of Bruges. In the Middle Ages this was a very busy square. If you look around you can see what happened here.
On the northwestern side of the square there is an old house, at the moment used as a chocolate shop, named the chocolate crown. The gutter of this house is decorated by elegant, symmetric patterns, comparable to flowers. How many of those patterns can you see on the gutters of this house. Look at the front and the back side!
