A few weeks ago, my mom came into my 4th grade classroom and taught a lesson on geocaching. Mostly, the lesson was about understanding latitude and longitude and finding things on a map, but at the end we talked about geocaching and I helped show the class some geocaching containers and travel bugs. We are going to send out a few travel bugs soon to see where they go! My teacher actually had a geocache container made up from several years ago that she never got a chance to put out, so she gave it to me to hide.
One of my classmates and I were out at Southridge today and the container was in our van. We decided to find a good spot to hide it. We found a wooded area, but you need to walk through a trashy area to get to it so bring a plastic bag with you and do some CITO while you're here!
Cache is a small tupperware container with some star erasers, a pencil, and a logbook. It says "Mrs. Smith's Awesome Fourth Graders" on the outside.
