Back in the day when I was learning French, I referred to a Christmas tree as "un arbre de Noel." I was corrected. The correct term is "le sapin de Noel" or literally, the Christmas Fir.
Over the last few years, I've noticed that some locals decorate a number of trees at this roadside location and then undecorate them later in the year. I've had the intention for many years to place a cache on these trees. When I noticed that they have once again been decorated and because I had a cache container in the back of my vehicle, I thought I would give a present to the local caching community.
