Geocache Description:

The migratory birds have arrived and will stay for a short time. The migratory Winter Texans have arrived and will stay for a short time. These indicators tell us that the weather here is still relatively warm.

LET'S HAVE A PICNIC. SUNDAY, JANUARY 17, 1:00PM TO 3:00PM.

Welcome to Firemans Park. This park isn't very big, but there are lots of things to do here.

There is playground equipment for children of all ages. Restroom are available.

A walking / hiking trail circles the small lake, as well as extends north and south along N 2nd St. on the west side of the park.

The lake has fish for catch & release fishing. Bring your own poles and bait. Swimming / wading is NOT allowed, but canoes and kayaks are allowed.

I'll supply the grilled hot dogs, buns, and condiments. Please bring something to share. Also bring your own table service, drinks, and chairs.

There are not many benches or tables in this park, and they are not movable. If you can supply a folding table, bring it. I'll bring tables for setting up the food.

BECAUSE THERE IS A NEARBY CACHE THAT REQUIRES ACCESS BY BOAT, I'LL BRING MY KAYAK AND LIFE JACKET. Group finds will not be allowed. If you want to claim the find, you have to paddle for it.

WARNING: There will be no picnic shelter available. (Rental fee is too expensive.) In case of high chance of rain, this Event will be canceled.  Watch this cache page for last minute changes. In case of cold weather, this Event will NOT be canceled. I can almost guarantee the temperature will stay above freezing.
