Geocache Description:

This geocache is located near a plaque placed by Carolinian Canada which contains information pertinent to the Carolinian corridor stetching from Courtright Line to just south of Nauvoo Road along the Sydenham River. Please take the time to read the information on the plaque.

At this location you will find a plaque placed by Carolinian Canada. There is adequate space to park a couple of vehicles off the road at this location. The geocache is located near, but not at the plaque.

In addition, there is a trail leading northeast from the parking area, which also has branch trails leading off from the main trail. I, myself, have been up the trail for just over a quarter mile but have not ventured farther at the time of writing up this geocache description. Along the trail you will see white five gallon pails hanging in the trees. I call them 'squirrel pails' as when I was here and was walking along the trail I startled a squirrel which was in one of the pails, sending it scurrying up the tree. Geocaching in the woods is great and for those who don't know, that is where geocaching got its start.

This carolinian corridor is a partnership between the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority and local landowners. Visitors are welcome to hike the trails in the area but please respect the area and the rights of the landowners who have allowed us the opportunity to hike and explore this area.

Reading the Carolinian Canada plaque will provide you with the background of the land and aquatic species which reside in this area, many of which are in the endangered species category.
