Geocache Description:

Porto Bello was the hunting lodge of the last Royal Governor of the British Colony of Virginia, John Murray, 4th Earl of Dunmore. In the early stages of the American Revolution, Lord Dunmore fled to Porto Bello to escape capture by the colonists by boarding a British ship lying at anchor in the nearby York River. Porto Bello is on the grounds of Camp Peary and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. However, it is closed to visitors because of restricted access to Camp Peary.

The Waller Mill Park Bike Trail is a two mile multiuse asphalt path connecting Rochambeau Drive and Mooretown Road. Parking/entrance fee is $2.00. Additional park information is available in the "Related Web Page" link. A big thank you to the City of Williamsburg for allowing us to geocache along this wonderfully maintained trail.
