The headwaters of Waller Mill Reservoir form the origins of Queen's Creek, a body of water typically known to commuters due to the bridge which spans over it on I-64. During the Civil War, Queen's Creek (towards the north) and College Creek (towards the south) became the anchors of the Williamsburg Defensive Line. This was a series of 14 redoubts positioned to the east of the city meant to block the westward march of Union forces towards Richmond under General George McClellan.
The Waller Mill Park Bike Trail is a two mile multiuse asphalt path connecting Rochambeau Drive and Mooretown Road. Parking/entrance fee is $2.00. Additional park information is available in the "Related Web Page" link. A big thank you to the City of Williamsburg for allowing us to geocache along this wonderfully maintained trail.
