The National Road (Old U.S. Highway 40) - Ellicott City, Maryland
The National Road is one of the most historic road routes to the west. This old stretch of U.S. Route 40 goes right in the heart of downtown Ellicott City. This multi cache is an easy two stage with the final being the second stage. The final is not wheelchair accessible. It can hold small trackables and SWAG items. BYOP.
The final IS on private property, but I have received permission from the land owners to place the cache. If they see you, just say "hi". Please do not walk up to the houses and knock. Use common sense and be respectful as this is someone's front yard. Please do not park on the private driveway. Stage 2 is within walking distance of stage 1. The cache is NOT located at the houses, but close nearby. Please replace exactly how you found it so that others can enjoy the cache.
To find the cache, you must do a little math first. At WP1, you'll see a sign under the same name of this cache. Note as of June 2019, the plaque is missing, however the plaque has been restored as of Feb 2021. This is where you will find your information. You can find the cache at: N 39° 16.ABC W 076° 48.DEF
