"Remembering Gary" was the first geocache my children and I ever found. Therefore, it is special to us. It was also very special to its owner. The cache description read, "This cache was placed in memory of my father, Gary, on what would have been his 76th birthday. He came to this place on almost a daily basis and was extremely involved within the community through his church. Please enjoy the hunt for this cache in one of an old Vietnam vet's favorite places to visit during his lifetime."
When I noticed that this cache had gone missing and later archived, I contacted the owner to see if she wanted help with maintenance or replacing the cache. Since she had moved to a new area, we felt it would be appropriate to create a new cache still honoring her father and also celebrating my family's first find.
