GO THE TREES!
This is the second cache I have placed to recognise local sporting clubs in this area. The first was "GORILLAS IN THE MIDST"
The location of the cache is near the Box Road Fields (in Sylvania Heights), the home of the Sylvania Heights Football Club (SHFC) otherwise known as The Trees. The Trees are one of 26 clubs that participate in the Sutherland Shire Football (Soccer!) Association which compete during the winter months. If you turn up on a Saturday or Sunday during Winter you will see the Trees, both young saplings and old oaks, displaying their athletic prowess on the sporting field. There may even be some young seedlings playing amongst the trees and bushes near the community centre and clubhouse! So take care when near GZ!
This cache is available amongst the trees at all times of the year, but during the Winter months it is an extremely busy area with soccer/football matches taking place on the nearby fields. This means parking can be very difficult and stealth may be required as you go in search of the cache. Also, it can be very busy on midweek evenings in Winter when The Trees are fine tuning their soccer skills at training. In the Summer months cricket may be played on the nearby fields on a Saturday. If you happen to be exploring amongst the trees on game day you can stop to watch a game or grab a sausage sandwich at the canteen near the main field.
The cache is a small plastic camoed container with the log inside a black bison tube. There is some room for small trackables and swaps. Please return the cache as you found it (lid facing outwards) so it can be easily removed for future finders and remains hidden from muggles who may frequent this area. Please bring a pen/pencil to sign the log in case the one inside goes missing.
