This cache has been archived.

Bunjil: Unfortunately, I cannot see any information that indicates that steps have been taken to resolve the issue/s associated with this placement. Therefore as advised previously, the cache is being de-listed (Archived) to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

The Geocache Maintenance guideline explains what needs to happen with a Disable cache.

Caches that have been archived for lack of maintenance will not be unarchived. This is explained in the Help Center article here.

If you wish to contact me please send an email via my profile - Bunjil, and quote the cache name and GC number.

Geocache Description:

This small cache is located near a Neighbourhood Safer Place. The shops nearby have been designated as an area that may be more of a safer place than other areas around Aireys Inlet during a bushfire situation. Doesn't mean it will be comfortable though! This cache needs extreme stealth, watch out for the bus riders!

Neighbourhood safer places-Places of Last resort may not be comfortable when a bushfire is moving through. They really are for your last resort. Your best option is to have a plan, have many plans! Plan for anything and everything to happen. Leaving early is a on specific coded days is a great one. Practice these plans, make sure everyone you are with knows it or has one of their own. Check the days Fire Danger rating, know your area and know your exits. To know what the day is expected to be you can download the Fire Ready App to your phone, check the CFA website and even listen to your local radio station (ABC, 774). Take a read of the sign above the green Neighbourhood safer place and understand what it means if you do find yourself in the situation that you need to be there during a bushfire. Let’s hope that will never happen! Enjoy the area. Stay alert, stay safe Geocachers!
