The church building was originally Outwood St John's Weslyan Church. In 1969 the present church was formed by an amalgamation of Outwood St John's, Outwood Newton Hill, Rehobeth and Outwood Bourne Methodist taking the name Parkside Methodist Church. The church is part of the Aire and Calder Methodist Circuit in the Leeds Methodist District.
