A nice walk any time of year through the ferns and a forest of big cedars, hemlocks, and douglas fir.
It's nice to see the area getting some attention. The trail to here is in great shape. It gets a little harder to follow not too far past, and seems to branch. The cut log by the cache is most likely part of an old trail you can see remnants of here and there. I used to explore out here when I was a kid, but we had to come down from Baty Rd. above since the bridge was in the dam complex and was off limits. Mostly because of the fish ladder. People would break in and dip from the ladder. The old farmer that brought me here for the first time used to do just that when he was a kid in the 40s. His mom and dad arrived in covered wagons to settle here before the dam was built.
