Geocache Description:

Orange waterproof matchbox

We saw a rock outcropping close to the trail and thought it would be a good place for a cache.

The goal for today's caching was Caliente Peak cabin (GCN983). This hike has been on my radar for a few years and I was able to talk Skinny.P into doing the hike with me. We met up early in Bakersfield and began our trek. Before we reached the peak, light snow flurries began. Us Bakersfield boys don't get much exposure to snow, so we enjoyed the different weather.

We caught the beginning of the snow flurries in video here.

The hike didn't end as planned, though. The distance to the peak was 17 miles round trip and we didn't make the final 3.5 miles of the hike; Elrojo14 came to the rescue with EMT in tow. For a full account of the hike, check out the 12/28/2015 logs of Skinny.P, Tung8, and Elrojo14 on Take Shelter! (GC22H6T).
