Many of you know that I now work for the Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites. More Specifically, FDR State Park. What many may not know is just how big FDR is and what a bear it is to keep clean.
In an effort to keep the park clean, I'm asking for help from my fellow geocaching friends to join me to target some areas that the park staff just doesn't have the time nor manpower to get to very often that I've noticed need some TLC.
Plans are to meet at the listed coordinates for a brief announcement about the areas I'd like targeted, pass out some garbage bags, then show how well a mob of geocachers can make a difference with clean up of the area. Depending on how many geocachers show up, I may ask to split into two groups and have one group locate to another area close by.
Water, rubber gloves, trash bags and a few safety vests(for those working closer to the roadway) will be provided. If you have your own gloves, safety vests or grabbers, feel free to bring them.
After the clean up is done, we will meet back at the listed coordinates for a group photo, some small door prizes and some geo-chat before we leave the area better than we found it!
