Forbidden Island Traditional Cache

This cache will take you hiking through lots of dramatic rock fomations on a beautifully wooded island along the Susquehanna River. The hike is challenging and some bouldering will be necessary to complete this trip. Plan for about an hour out and back from the parking location.

This cache is hidden on Peavine Island along the Susquehanna River. The Mason Dixon Trail runs through here, and with all of the dramatic rock formations this is a beautiful place to explore. There are many informal trails that criss-cross through this island, so there is more than one correct way to this cache. The hike will be challenging, but our family (four kids with one as young as seven) was able to explore here pretty well. The cache is a medium-sized lock-and-lock container spray-painted green. Bring some tradeables!
